Black top hat from the famous hat manufacturer C.W. Borchert * Friedrichstraße 157 * Berlin W. This antique hat is easy to date. Borchert was a very honourable purveyor to the court of the German imperial family. This reference - purveyor to the court - is missing from this top hat, i.e. the imperial house no longer exists, the emperor abdicated after the First World War. We therefore date the top hat to the 1920s. Very well preserved.
