These elegant open‑toe evening shoes were made by the renowned Swiss manufacturer Bally, one of Europe’s most prestigious houses for luxury footwear. Crafted from soft black suede and decorated with refined gold‑coloured appliqué, the shoes combine understated glamour with the high‑quality materials typical of early 20th‑century evening fashion. The gold‑embossed inscription “Cordonnerie Suisse” appears on the insole, highlighting Bally’s reputation for exceptional craftsmanship.
The shoes were sold in the Netherlands by N. Smit, a distinguished Hofleveranden (Purveyor to the Court) with branches in Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam, placing this pair firmly within the upper tier of early 1900s European fashion retail.
They are preserved in very good condition, with only subtle signs of wear, mainly visible on the outer sole. The suede remains rich in colour and texture, and the gold appliqué retains its decorative brilliance. With their graceful lines and luxurious materials, these shoes exemplify the sophisticated aesthetic of ca. 1910 and stand as a fine example of early 20th‑century luxury evening shoes.
