Day dresses from the 1920s are rarely preserved. While embroidered Charleston dresses still exist, functional dresses were often worn up or altered. This velvet dress is well preserved and impressive. It is made of velvet sewn onto thin crepe and decorated with beaded embroidery. An orange-colored underdress is still in its original condition. The bust area and sleeves are made of sheer crepe, which both conceals and reveals.
The jewelry is not included.
