Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon married Albert, Duke of York in 1923, who unexpectedly became King George VI following the abdication of his brother Edward in 1936. Elizabeth was the royal consort during his lifetime, and when her daughter was crowned Queen Elizabeth II, she became known as the Queen Mother. Here the “Queen Mum” poses in all her royal splendor. She signs her name: 'Elizabeth R. / 1962' on the passe-partout surrounding the photograph, which is in an official royal leather frame with the royal insignia.

Framed to an overall size of approx. 32 x 22 cm.  Overall in very good condition.
