This charming small Rococo wallet, dating to around 1795, is made of elegant mustard‑green silk and represents a rare surviving example of late 18th‑century personal accessories. The wallet closes with a silver button and a loop, a typical fastening method of the Georgian period. A small hanger on the back suggests it may have been worn or attached for easy carrying.
The edges are finished with fine trimmings, adding decorative refinement to the compact design. Inside, the wallet is lined with light blue silk, creating a beautiful contrast with the mustard‑green exterior. For its age, the piece is very well preserved; the silk shows only slight darkening on the back, an age‑appropriate patina that does not diminish its rarity or display value.
A seldom‑found and highly collectible example of Rococo silk craftsmanship, ideal for enthusiasts of historic textiles, Georgian accessories, and museum‑quality 18th‑century objects.
