This is a rare Rococo bodice, crafted from brown silk and entirely hand‑sewn, made for a young girl in the late 18th century. As specialists in historical dress, we can confirm that garments of this quality were worn at court — most likely at the French Rococo court — and reflect the refined elegance expected of aristocratic youth. The bodice was originally worn with a matching skirt from the same period and would typically have been complemented by a fichu, a light neck covering fashionable among young noblewomen. The garment shows a neatly pleated edge with integrated straps.

The piece features a closure with very old hooks and eyes, all original to the garment, and displays the characteristic shoulder breadth and silhouette of Rococo tailoring. Despite its age, the bodice is exceptionally well preserved, retaining its structure, sheen, and delicate hand‑stitched details.

This is an outstanding example of 18th‑century French textile craftsmanship, ideal for collectors of Rococo clothing, antique silk garments, and museum‑quality historical fashion.
