This KPM Berlin Neuosier cup and saucer from an imperial porcelain service for Emperor Wilhelm II represents one of the most finely crafted examples of late‑19th‑century Imperial German porcelain. The cup is dated 1897 and the saucer 1894, both made of white‑glazed porcelain and decorated in the highly desirable iron‑red Neuosier pattern.
The design features an elegant Rococo cartouche with the Prussian eagle and the cipher “FR – Friedrich Rex” beneath the royal crown, directly referencing Frederick the Great and the enduring Prussian monarchical tradition. Additional polychrome floral bouquets and a meticulously executed gilt vine‑leaf border enhance the festive and representative character of this imperial ensemble.
A particularly important detail is the monogram “WR” for Wilhelm Rex, underscoring the personal connection to Kaiser Wilhelm II. The undersides bear the authentic KPM Berlin marks—the underglaze blue scepter and the red orb mark—each with date inscriptions confirming their origin in the late 19th century.
The cup measures 9 cm in diameter with a height of 6 cm, while the saucer measures 15.5 cm in diameter. Both pieces are preserved in very good condition.
Uniting royal provenance, artisanal quality, and historical significance, this Neuosier cup and saucer are a remarkable highlight for collectors of KPM porcelain, Imperial German tableware, and representative objects of German history.
