GESCHWISTER LADEWIG Bonnet, Berlin, ca. 1890

While searching for the name inside the hat, we came across other people with the name Ladewig who were unfortunately killed in concentration camps during the Nazi era. We hope that the hat makers of this unique contemporary testimony experienced a different fate and died old and safe in peace.

The bonnet is made of velvet and decorated with sequins in the forehead area. Original chin straps. Decorative silk bow on the back. Inside label: Geschw. Ladewig * Modes * Berlin, W. * Markgrafenstr. 35. The hood is in very good condition. A rare testimony to the history of German fashion.
