Bag from the Biedermeier period, ca. 1820-1830, origin: England. There is a similar bag in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Ivory-colored moiré silk. Appliquéd with colored silk muslin in the shape of a bouquet of flowers on one side and in the shape of a wreath on the other. Various flowers are appliquéd. Silk cord closure. Two silk tassels. Lined with silk taffeta. A museum piece. Very rare.
