This lovely christening gown, dating to around 1923, comes with its original photograph showing the baby and mother — a rare and touching piece of documented family history. With provenance from England, the gown is made of delicate net tulle and finely worked lace, creating the light, ethereal appearance typical of early‑20th‑century christening garments.

The gown is accompanied by its long silk slip, which adds structure and softness beneath the sheer outer layer. Both the gown and the slip close at the back with small buttons, a common feature in 1920s infant clothing. The craftsmanship is refined, and the materials remain remarkably fresh.

Condition is excellent, with only a few tiny spots and some pinhead holes in the tulle — minor age‑related signs that do not detract from its beauty. As christening gowns were often cherished and reused across multiple generations, this example reflects the emotional and cultural significance of family baptism traditions. The survival of both the gown and its original photo makes this a particularly rare and charming ensemble, offering a glimpse into early‑20th‑century family life and ceremonial dress.
