Antique Theatrical Headpice, Germany, ca. 1890-1910

Wow! This exquisite headdress comes from a German collection of theatrical jewelry. Very artistically crafted. Hook fastener at the back. The hanging, front part of the belt is hooked; it is detachable. The belt is older than you might think. It probably dates from the period between 1890-1910, when actresses wore this headdress on stage in exotic roles (such as Salome).

In very good to excellent condition.

Material: yellow metal, blue stones, hanging metal beads on decorative chains.

Very, very rare to find. Even rarer are these pieces offered for sale. Most of them are in private collections.
