This beautiful gray silk day dress, dating to around 1916, is a refined example of late Edwardian and early WWI fashion. The soft gray silk is decorated with small red, yellow, and green floral motifs, giving the dress a delicate, almost watercolor‑like charm. Designed as a one‑piece garment, it reflects the transitional silhouette of the mid‑1910s - elegant, practical, and increasingly fluid in movement.

The dress is distinguished by its finely placed small pleats, found at the hem of the skirt, across the chest, and along the back. These pleated sections add texture and structure while maintaining the lightness typical of the period. It closes at the front, and a belt made from the same silk completes the silhouette.

The neckline features a lace collar, possibly added later, while the bust area is constructed from black lace and tulle. The lower tulle layer is likely missing, making the bust area slightly more open or “airy” than originally intended - an age‑appropriate alteration that does not detract from the dress’s display value.

The dress is in very good condition, with only a few small holes and minimal signs of wear. Decorative items shown in photographs are not included.

A graceful and well‑preserved example of 1910s daywear, ideal for collectors of antique dresses, historic textiles, and museum‑quality garments.
