Stroll Umbrella, 1870s

Rare carriage or stroll umbrella, 1870s. Handle and tip are made of leg. The umbrella is foldable, so it could be conveniently stowed in a carriage - or in a side pocket of a touring dress. Modern-looking design of the covered silk. Colorful and black squares have been woven in here. Crocheted fringe at the top of the umbrella and as a border. In very good condition. Tiny tears in the silk at the top of the umbrella (not visible as covered by the crocheted fringes).
