Exceptional ball gown, ca. 1865, made of antique white moiré silk. Origin: France. The skirt is simple and ends in a small train - typical for dresses of this period. Subtle signs of wear in the hem area. It is decorated with garlands of green velvet. The same velvet can be found in the bodice. Five decorative buttons in the same color adorn the front of the bodice. Closure (front) with hooks and eyelets. Sleeveless. The top is attached to the skirt with hooks. The pompadour is made of ribbed green silk and decorated with tassels. The shawl is made of fine bobbin lace. An infinitely elaborate piece of work. The ensemble is in very good condition. A few stains in the skirt. Subtle signs of age and wear. Small holes in the shawl, one slightly larger hole. Small tears in the evening bag. All in all: a beautiful dress that is second to none. The decoration is not included.
