This charming raspberry‑red Biedermeier reticule, dating to around 1825, is a beautifully preserved example of early 19th‑century fashion accessories. Reticules of this type were essential companions for women of the Biedermeier period, offering a stylish way to carry personal items while complementing the elegant silhouettes of the era.

The bag is crafted in a half‑round shape and features two matching handles made from the same textile. It closes with a traditional button fastening, typical of early 19th‑century workmanship. Inside, the reticule is reinforced with cardboard and lined with brown silk, which is richly embroidered on both sides with different floral motifs - a delightful detail that highlights the artistry of Biedermeier needlework.

The piece is in very good condition, with only a small loss at one corner along the upper edge - an age‑appropriate imperfection that does not diminish its beauty or collectability.

A rare and elegant accessory for collectors of Biedermeier fashion, antique purses, and museum‑quality historic textiles.
