This light‑colored knitted cotton scarf, made around 1910 by the Phoenix Company, is an early and beautifully preserved example of practical Edwardian knitwear. The original label bears a 1910 patent, confirming its early production and placing it among the innovative scarf designs of the period. The construction features a distinctive double collar, giving the piece both structure and warmth while maintaining a slim, elegant silhouette.

Designed to be worn under a coat or top, the scarf fastens at the front with a snap closure, a modern and convenient detail for its time. Like other early mufflers of the era, it was intended as a unisex accessory, suitable for women, men, and children—a rare versatility in early 20th‑century fashion. The knitted cotton remains very well preserved, with only one small stain noted. Decorative items shown in photographs are not included.

A charming and functional example of Edwardian knitted accessories and early American mass‑market design, ideal for collectors and textile historians.
