Jabots are elegant fabric ruffles or lace trimmings that are attached to the collar or front of a garment.
In different fashion eras, jabots were used to give garments a special touch, from Victorian to Edwardian fashion. They could also be used to cover sweat or stains on clothing and provide a certain protective function.
Jabots are therefore far more than just decorative elements - they have both aesthetic and practical significance.
This large jabot is made of Irish lace and white muslin fabric. It features a small lace border. It is in very good condition.
