BRADLEY Antique Muffler, ca. 1910 – Knitted Cotton V‑Neck Scarf with Snap Fastener

This black knitted cotton scarf, made around 1910, is an early example of practical yet stylish Edwardian outerwear. Produced by The Bradley company as the “Full Fashioned V‑Neck Muffler,” it was designed to be worn neatly under a coat or top, fastening at the front with a discreet snap fastener. Its streamlined shape and functional closure made it an unusually modern accessory for its time.

Remarkably, this muffler represents one of the earliest unisex scarf designs, suitable for women, men, and children alike—an uncommon versatility in the early 20th century. The knitted cotton remains very well preserved, retaining its structure and softness with only minimal signs of age. Decorative items shown in photographs are not included.
