Kingdom of Wurttemberg

The Kingdom of Württemberg was a German state that existed from 1806 to 1918, located in what is now southwestern Germany. Elevated from a duchy during the Napoleonic era, it joined the Confederation of the Rhine and later became part of the German Empire in 1871. Ruled by a constitutional monarchy, its capital was Stuttgart, and it maintained a strong Protestant identity alongside a growing industrial economy. The kingdom ended with the abdication of King William II following World War I, transitioning into the Free People’s State of Württemberg.
