This early 20th-century European folding fan is a striking example of Edwardian fashion accessories, combining rich materials with ornate detailing. The wooden guards are painted and enhanced with gilt, while the pierced sticks add texture and elegance to the structure. A metal loop at the base allows for suspension or display.
The fan leaf is made of red satin, adorned with appliqué shapes and machine embroidery in gold thread, creating a luxurious surface that reflects the decorative tastes of the Edwardian and Belle Époque eras. Measuring approx. 31.5 cm in guard length and 57 cm in width when opened, the fan is in very good condition, with its original embellishments beautifully preserved. Please note: decorative items shown in some images are not included.
This rare red satin embroidered fan is ideal for collectors of antique fans, early 20th-century accessories, or museum-quality decorative arts, offering a vivid glimpse into the refined craftsmanship and textile artistry of European design.
