This refined black velvet jacket, dating to around 1928 and originating from England, is a beautifully preserved example of late‑1920s outerwear. The silhouette is defined by pleated shoulders and long sleeves, giving the piece a subtle sculptural presence typical of transitional fashion at the end of the flapper era. The front construction is particularly striking: the left side is straight‑cut, while the right side features an overlapping fabric panel designed to close across the body, creating an elegant asymmetry characteristic of late‑Jazz‑Age tailoring.
Crafted from deep black velvet, the jacket retains its rich surface texture and drape. It survives in very good to excellent condition, with only minimal signs of age, and remains fully wearable today—a rarity for authentic 1920s velvet garments. Decorative items shown in photographs are not included.
A timeless and versatile piece of antique English fashion, ideal for collectors, stylists, and admirers of early 20th‑century textiles.
