This exceptionally rare ensemble from Vienna circa 1910 showcases the refined artistry of the Wiener Werkstätte, a pioneering design collective known for its influence on early 20th-century decorative arts. The set includes a pair of Wiener Werkstätte shoes and two enamel medallions, likely designed by Josef Hoffmann, one of the founding members of the movement.
The enamel medallions, crafted in brass and white enamel, measure approximately 4.5 × 2.0 cm and were executed by Johann Souval for the Wiener Werkstätte. Each medallion bears the hallmark “WW” on the reverse, confirming its authenticity and origin around 1910. These medallions exemplify the geometric elegance and craftsmanship associated with Viennese Art Nouveau jewelry.
The accompanying Wiener Werkstätte shoes feature crossed straps with rhinestone clasps, made from shimmering silver lamé fabric. The leather insole is stamped in gold with “Wiener Werkstätte”, a rare and valuable detail that affirms provenance. The shoes are in good to very good condition, showing only minor signs of wear and light abrasion to the lamé surface.
This set is extremely rare, representing a unique intersection of Austrian design history, early 20th-century fashion, and collectible Wiener Werkstätte artifacts. Ideal for museum collections, design archives, or connoisseurs of Josef Hoffmann and Viennese modernism.
