This beautiful French bonnet, dating to the mid-19th century, is a refined example of ceremonial and Sunday-best headwear, likely worn for marriages, grand occasions, or churchgoing attire. Made from white muslin and adorned with black netting decoration, the bonnet blends softness with contrast, embodying the elegant restraint of French provincial fashion.

The front features ruffled material, framing the face with delicate volume, while the back is finished with an original black ribbon and bow, cleverly designed with a press stud fastening that allows the bow to pass under the chin and secure at the front—a practical and stylish detail. The bonnet remains in very good condition, with browning to the inside edge caused by rust from the internal metal hoop, a common and authentic sign of age. Please note: decorative items shown in some images are not included.

This rare French muslin and net bonnet is ideal for collectors of antique headwear, 19th-century bridal fashion, or museum-quality textile artifacts, offering a graceful glimpse into the rituals, craftsmanship, and social elegance of historic French dress.
