Ladies in the Victorian and also in the Edwardian period often formed their hair into large knots. With hatpins the big hats were then made to fit securely. Occasionally such wax wreaths were also worn. These wreaths were placed on the top of the topknot and fixed. This wreath is made of wax buds and wax flowers. Excellent condition.
