Shoes with flat soles are very difficult to date. They existed practically for almost three decades. Only the toe part has changed: from pointed to flat. We date these shoes to the Biedermeier period. But they could just as well have been worn in the 1850s or the 1860s. The paper label of these slippers points to America. Hurrel * Cincinnati. They are made of white kid leather. Flat leather sole. One stain, on one side, a few other stains. For that they get the predicate: well preserved.
