Extravagant, two-piece wedding dress, ca. 1879, origin: America. More precisely from the Valentine Museum, which is currently selling some of its dresses. The dress consists of a tulle overdress and a tulle underskirt. The antique dress is made in the style of a lingerie dress. It is covered all over with small satin bows. Particularly at the front and on the left side. The bows are attached asymmetrically. Additionally decorated with ribbons made of color-coordinated silk. Long train. Typical culet for dresses of this period. The dress closes at the front (missing hooks and eyelets). A loose ribbon, which was probably intended for the neck area. In good to very good condition. Very subtle color changes. Probably a few minor tears in the tulle. The matching and original petticoat shows clearer signs of age. Some minor tears and discoloration. Dresses of this type have only survived in museums and private collections. They are very, very rare. The decoration is not included.
