Dolman, made of black velvet, ca. 1855. Parisian label: Maison Laur Loriot & Cie. The mantle is richly embroidered with black jet pearls. Peplum at the back. Decorated with pompoms made of wooden beads covered with pearls. Decorated shoulders, reminiscent of epaulettes and thus of the military origins of this garment. Well preserved. The inner silk is somewhat “tired” in very few places. Minor loss of pearls (on the left collar side). Provenance: Valentine Museum, America.The decoration is not included.
